8/30/03 - FSU 37, UNC 0: The outcome wasn't quite as good as two years ago, but the Tar Heels are already showing improvement by shutting out the Seminoles in the final quarter. All-American Dexter Reid had seven big tackles and even when Greg Jones ran into him Dex took him down. Darkhorse Heisman candidate Darian Durant looked pretty darn good by throwing for 145 yards and only ONE interception.
9/6/03 - Syracuse 49, UNC 47 3OT: Wow, what a game. The Tar Heels showed why they are one of the best offensive teams in the nation. Again the Heels showed improvement by outscoring the Orangemen 27-14 in the first half. Although Syracuse had 518 yards of total offense (not good), 224 of those yards came on eight plays. Like DE Isaac Mooring said, "If you eliminate those, we have a pretty good defense." Next up is Wisconsin. Prediction: Heels 40 Badgers 20
9/13/03 - Wisconsin 38, UNC 27: Okay all you naysayers. Tell me the Tar Heels didn't show improvement. That's what it's all about, right? Tell me that's right. Did you see CJ Stephens come in and DOMINATE? Rabbit was awesome. Finally he shows that 4.19 speed!! Now we get to whup up on those Wuffies. I can't wait to rub it in! Prediction: Heels 47 Wuffies 30.
9/27/03 - NCSU 47, UNC 34: Hah. Once again you all fail to realize that JB is building a dynasty here! After falling behind 21-3, JB rallied his troops and had a chance to win at the end. He stategically put Matt Baker in as QB and BOOM...UNC was back in the game. UNC was a TD and another onsides kick away from pulling off a win. UNC improved once again with outstanding play by Pollack and Durant. Next week is an easy win in BKS (Beautiful Kenan Stadim) against Virginia who coul BARELY beat Weak Forest. Heels 35 UVA 14
10/03/03 - UVA 38, UNC 13: "We have some small wins each week. I'm going to emphasize the fact that we made special teams an emphasis this year, and we are doing better on it. Those young players are out there playing their fannies off, and I'm excited about that. We are going in the right direction." Those aren't my words! They are JB's words! Listen to him. Nuff said.
