Well, they tried to have a NC A&M vs. Central Carolina Comm College tractor-pull, but the FFA pulled out at the last minute.

I really believe this is the greatest rivalry in all of sports, but as DevilDJ said, recently it has not been. Why? Because UNC has sucked the last few years. It has taken the fun and many of the close games out of it. Hell, even I am bored with it and don't enjoy it or look forward to it as much. Even though UNC is a historic rival and ALWAYS will be, I consider Maryland a greater rival now and hate them more than I used to hate UNC, which inspired my ABCism. Now I'm ABM--anybody but Maryland. Hell, I even pull for UNC over Maryland when they play each other now and even though Maryland SUCKS this year, which says A LOT.

Except for a couple of blow outs, every game has been close. Final scores may not always show it. It has been and always will be my favorite game to watch. The games at Cameron are the best. Watching the players and the crowd react to each other is amazing.

1) Miami - FSU: College Football. Last second thrills aplenty, BOTH teams annually ranked quite high.

2) Dallas - Washington: Pro Football. Two teams that used to flat out HATE each other.

4) Yankees - Red Sox: Evil Empire v the perpetual underdog

5) Toronto - Montreal: Pro Hockey. Unless you live up there you have no idea the level of this year-round intense rivalry.

6) Lakers - Celtics: West v Havlicheck (sp), Bird v Magic. The premier hoops rivalry. East coast v West coast, Showtime v ugly white dudes in too short shorts.

But anyways, this game was way overhyped. You would of thought it was the National championship game. Its almost always a good game. There have been a few games where Duke has crushed the heels, but then again there has been some where the heels smoked duke. there is never any rivalry where EVERY game is decided by 3 or less points.

Dallas and Washington? You wanna talk about old and outdated. There are really no big rivalries in professional sports compared to college. The Yankees and the Red Sox yes but they play each other about what, 15 times a year? Unc and Duke played twice this year and twice the games were really good. This rivalry is def in the top ten IMO.

The part I was getting at is that all week we've heard nothing else on ESPN.
Then I pick up SI and the top line on the cover is about someone on the staff that is an xher and his article about teh rivalry.

The bottom line for me is that xh has always had an inferriority complex with Duke and they attempt to aspire to the level of an expensive private school so I put the hype clearly on the heads of the xhers.

Airhole, State doesn'tpretend to be something it isn't or to think of itself more highly than it should.

Maybe you ought to go to a NASCAR race sometime!
