I think that this is really somewhere in the realm between off topic and freaklin street, but...I needed to vent. HELLA problems occurred this morning...
Went to the ticketmaster at 7 in the morning, though the ticket distribution was at 10. Wanted to be there early, for obvious reasons...Well, somebody told me that THIS specific place does RANDOM distribution...meaning that everybody that gets there 30 minutes before gets a number, and then if your number gets called, you're first in line. SO...in essence, I didn't have to get there until 9:15...so my all-nighter was in vain.
The woman who I saw (that freaking WORKS there) told me the wrong entrance to stand at, so I got there late...luckily, I was still 4th in line, because hella people were in the same spot. I WAS 2nd, regardless...moving on...
We're told that tickets are REALLY limited, so we have to move quickly and tell her what we want (3 $75 tickets, in my case). But, of course, I didn't know that the woman working the comp was going to be a HUNT AND PECK TYPIST. I thought "hey. I'm fourth in line. I'll be fine." Wrong. "No more cheap seats", she says. When the guy in front of me got some fucking $53 seats. EIGHT OF THEM.
So we leave...take my friend's cell, and talk to my second friend. He tells me that his girlfriend got mad because we didn't offer her a ticket (she said she'd give up the money), but we thought that it was no big deal. We find out that she got two tickets online...GREAT...now we only need two tickets.
We go back up, and get 2 $53 tickets. Same section, different row. We assume that we'll be able to trade with someone for worse seats so me and my friend can sit together. Then my friend can trade (there were a LOT of single tickets being sold, the news said), and we'll all be sitting together.
His girlfriend calls. Because she was pissed that my friend didn't ask, she gave...GAVE...the other ticket to her ex-boyfriend. If that isn't worthy of breaking up, I don't know what is.
So now...I feel bad, and as hardcore of a Ravens fan that I am, without both of my friends there, it will have lost its meaning, making its worth far below what I purchased it for. As a result, I'm now going to sell the ticket (actually, I don't know yet...I might keep it, because this is fucking once-in-a-lifetime). For $120...but I'm still selling the ticket. Hey...brotha's gotta pay th' bills.
That second part all happened in a span of 8 minutes (So now it's 10:08). Then...AFTER the all-nighter, I had to go get some stuff from the mall, meet people at IHOP to eat, and go get some stuff from the market. I was home by 2. Guess what I did when I got back? Ha.
So anyways...These are the things I go through for my team.
Oh...one last thing in this rant. The one thing that pissed me off the most was that the lady in front of me knew NOTHING about the Ravens. She was getting tickets for her boyfriend and his friends.
First: "I heard JAMEL Lewis almost broke WALTER PEYTON'S record. If he breaks it in the playoffs, does it count?"
Second: Me and my friends were talking about how much of a beast Edgerton Hartwell is.
Woman: "What position does he play again?"
Bunch of people: "Middle linebacker"
Woman: "Oh. How do you know he's so good if he has to play back-up to Ray Lewis all the time? I know he doesn't ever get benched."
Me: "::sigh:: 3-4 defense."
I WANTED TO KILL HER! AAH!!!!!!!!!!
And the one to top it off...
"Wright hasn't been doing well. They should start Redman, since he has more experience."
Night all. Move this to off-topic if you think it should be there. But feel free to share opinions.

I was going to be really ugly and tell you what you should and your buddy should do to his gal however I will instead say that the same system is used for Panthers tickets. Regardless of when you showed up you get a lottery number. Some folks who had been out all night got skunked!
I got on Ticketmaster at 10am when they went on sale and immediately got "not available". Later that night I saw where it took 30 minutes to sell-out the tickets!?!?
I tried numerous times to get "any available" price tickets to no avail.
Anyway, I can watch it from home and not have to worry about some punk like fa spilling a beer down my back!
Dec 30 2003, 02:44 PM
Yeah, they had 7,000 available tickets...only 3,000 or so under $100...so they were all sold out by 10:30. EVERYTHING was sold out by noon.

I got my two tickets to the Panthers/Dallas game. PSL owners dont have to stand in line, they just mail them to you for $300.
Dec 30 2003, 04:27 PM
I'd never pay for a $150 ticket unless I was rich as fuck.
Like I said before, I'm getting expensive-as-fuck Ravens season tickets the MINUTE I get money.
Oh...by the way...go Broncos. Maybe I'll be able to see one more game in Baltimore. In fact, go Seahawks and Packers, as well...my friend has connections, and he's gonna get all of us a luxury box if his dad's willing...IF Seattle/Green Bay and Carolina both get that far.
Dec 30 2003, 04:58 PM
Hey Trig, I pay you face value for one plus I'll buy all your beer, parking, snacks etc.
Dec 30 2003, 05:15 PM
They were not $150 each. You get 4 tickets. 2 for the 1st round and 2 for the second round (if you play at home).
If you dont, they put the money towards next years season tickets. I think they are like $75 each for the 1st game.
Wopacker, they may be an expensive deal for you! $5.50 a beer and I will drink about 10 easy inside the stadium.
Dec 30 2003, 05:21 PM
I figured you had a hollow leg Trig!
I guess that means that I would have to drag you home and put you up for the night since I can't let you drive back to the Triangle after 10!

I will be sleeping at the parents house in Charlotte.
We (me and my dad) are getting to the game at about 4pm to tailgate with some friends.
When it is all over and done with, I will have performed at least twenty four 12oz curls.
If I had an extra ticket, I promise you would be first on my list!
Dec 31 2003, 03:00 AM
I will be LISTENING to the game as I WORK away from Charlotte on SATURDAY. Holy shit I love busy season.
Yo r&h, are you sure you want to be an accountant? If so, you can probably kiss future play-off ticket buying experiences good bye for a while.

It's my back-up plan, TT. Me and Trig had a long discussion about this a while ago.

First off she'd be an EX-girlfriend.
Either that or she better bring M4D skillz to the bedroom and do me like her life depended on it. Oh and buy me breakfast, lunch and dinner and apologize about 50 times.
Better get them Hush Puppies on and hit your ass down the road sweetheart.
Show up at the stadium. Work some deals. See who is scalping and wait. Nobody wants to eat money so when the game kicks off they drop prices big-time. (You know this I'm sure).
Wouldn't it be great if there was a quiz to get into the stadium?
Ticket taker: "Ok lady, what team did Roger Staubach play for?"
CLueless_chick_01: "Umm Oakland?"
Ticket taker: "Nope. Give me your ticket. Move along now."
