After losing two in a row in a short PBA Governors’ Cup tournament, Powerade has just pushed the panic button.
The Tigers decided to give Rashad McCants the pink slip and bring in replacement Omar Sneed.
Powerade head coach Bo Perasol confirmed the news to InterAKTV on Monday night.
“We’re bringing in Omar Sneed. He will leave tonight and is expected to arrive tomorrow night,” Perasol said in a telephone interview.
The Tigers’ next game will be on Friday – against the rejuvenated Alaska Aces – enough time for the 35-year-old veteran international campaigner to adjust to the team’s system and get himself acclimatized.
McCants, an NBA veteran, failed to live up to the team’s expectations as the Tigers lost their first two games and fell to the bottom of the standings. His last game wasn’t that bad as he finished with 23 points, including five triples, but his team lost to the Barako Bull Energy, 106-101. He scored 27 points in his debut against Petron Blaze.

moral lesson of the story: do not get an import who's only good on paper..nba journeymen do not have that go-to-guy or leader type instinct..they will remain as role players for life..take the case of denzel bowles and gabe freeman, they were unknown coz they come from lowly schools..they know what it takes to carry a team..they're out to prove and redeem themselves coz we dont know them before..to me, that should be the pba coaches' standard for scouting an import
