In The Old Man and the Sea the protagonist talks of "The Great Dimaggio ". I've only used that phrase to describe one other player - Roberto Clemente.
Hindsight aside (seriously, why is he shagging flies?), Rivera deserves this acolade as well. Granted he was a one-inning reliever, but of his generation, nobody did it better longer.

I prefer to remember him blowing game 7 of the World Series, and blowing TWO saves in the Yankees choke to the Red Sox in 2004.
