Afraid? I don't think anyone had any delusions of Singler being a star in the NBA. The guy is 23 yrs old, living in friggin MADRID (beautiful, clean city btw) and making as much as he was in the NBA.
He's having a good season apparently. I can see him going back to the Motor City soon.
I read an interesting stat about Detroit. The section of the city that is abandoned is larger than Buffalo NY. I can't remember the dimensions...90 sq miles, I think. But the parts of the city and suburbs that the players frequent ain't that 90 sq miles.

Your interest in his return to the motor city is curious.

I find it interesting that he lacks the desire to attempt to play in the best basketball league in the world.

George Karl says "Hi, I played for the Spurs."

Larry Brown says "Hi, I played for 4 ABA teams."

So between the two they played 1 season in the NBA.
And coached 2 NBA all star teams to international disaster.
Great post.

Thanks for missing my point. So they didn't have great NBA careers...at least they tried. Singler is scared to even try.
And their ABA seasons don't mean anything?

The ABA was a traveling minstrel show.

David Thompson started in the ABA
But the ABA probably had better coke, so that would make sense.
