Last night the MS Dinner of Champions honored Roy and he was so grateful to all the hole fans that payed at least $125 bucks to get in that he left immediately after his speech. When they had this same event honoring K 2 years ago he stayed around for over an hour afterward meeting with the fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

I'm sure he didn't want to miss his flight back to Omaha.

Maybe he had to get home to check Ebay and see if anyone bid on his timeouts?

Someone on IC posted about how they met Roy last night at the MS dinner. He said he was a little late because he was texting a recruit who had called him while he was on the highway (1). Roy still took the time, however, to stop and chat with everyone in the VIP room before he spoke (2). He left after his speech because he said he had to get in touch with two recruits before 11 PM (3). And regarding the joke about raising more than K...1. not surprising, and 2. no one said Roy even made the joke. (4)

I was at the Coach K event and I spoke to 2 people who were at the Roy one last night. His excuse for leaving early was that he had to make a couple of recruiting calls last night before 11pm. Now we all know his recruiting season is not going well but to use that as an excuse to get out of an event that he has known about for over 6 months is weak. Why couldn't he have made these calls earlier in the day or today? He's had more than 6 months to clear his schedule for that evening so he could spend a little bit of time with some of his most faithful fans.

Looks like his comments that he made during his radio show where he hates dealing with the fans are true.
