Not sure how "great" unc is.

They've played just 11 games away from home out of 45. They are 6-5 in those games.

They're 2-5 against ranked teams.

They're 4-5 he last 2 weeks.

The gauge of how good this team is began on April 20th and ends on May 13. During this time they play 9 games combined against FSU, NCSU and GaTech. So far they are 1-3.

They've used their lofty (and deserved) preseason ranking and beat up on mediocre/bad teams early(starting out 17-1) to stay up in the polls.

Are you on crack? State still has the ACC's, the regionals and maybe the CWS. State has done well in the Regionals, but always comes up short against the eventual winner. unc peaked against MIAMI and that was a month ago.

The game was big, but you're a fool if you think the reasons you cited ranked higher than the simple fact that ncsu was playing UNC. The fact that it was UNC was the #1 reason and the fact that UNC is consensus top 4 in America is your reason #2. All of which you mentioned are nothing, relatively speaking, to #1 and #2. This transcends all sports, not just baseball, btw.

ncsu is our rival in all sports. Don't kid yourself. Please spare us the "but ncsu isn't your rival" hogwash. Of course we want to beat ncsu but the fact of the matter is we have bigger fish to fry. ncsu is our rival and always will be due to proximity, we play in the same league, and because a large proportion of high school applicants apply to both UNC and ncsu. 99.9% of those who are turned down by UNC, get into and attend ncsu which id the perfect starting ingredient for the formula of hate and envy that is abcerdom.

What you fail to acknowledge is that since UNC has dominated ncsu for so long in virtually everything, it means UNC fans feel indifferent to beating or losing(on the rare occasion) to ncsu. This is precisely why, in basketball, beating dook means as much as it does and losing to moou is rather meaningless. If you ever start actually winning against UNC consistently, then maybe all the shit you talk will actually be justified and then maybe we'll give a shit.

I agree with Lee that people don't dislike unc because of the close wins in football or the perceived notion that unc gets all the calls.

It's the idiotic fanbase. And idiotic isn't the right word. It's the hypocritical fanbase who think unc's sh!t don't stink.

Furthermore, an overwhelming majority of these loons have NOTHING to do with unc other than living in the state that bears the same name and deciding to root for "their heels".

Don't let facts get in your way....unc is #4 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 25. They are #6 in the ESPN/Coaches Poll and Baseball America Poll.

Regardless, the game (and series) means a lot to BOTH teams. unc is chasing UVa for the top spot in their division. State is trying to catch Clemson in their divison for the #2 slot. I'm sure the players don't feel the same way you (and all unc fans, as you claim) do that "losing to State doesn't matter".
