Not that the athletics department doesn't need the money. It spends a whopping $96,000 just to put the football team up in a local hotel for home games.

This idiot is clueless...and I expect the abcers to fall right in line with his dumbass.

Do some research on fees at UNC versus other institutions.

UNC is voted year after year as a best value education.

Yes we're laughing...at you. laugh.gif

Amato does the same thing, Capt. IF. Jeez...

this article has nothing to do with the value of the education, the tuition increases are somehow causing a lack of money for the university and their athletic department

1) UNC increases tuition for obvious reasons

2) scholarships are required to be for the tuition set by the University

What part of that does this reporter, and you wuffies, not understand? His analogy about apartment rent is stupid. His only point is about the wastefulness of some of the teams and the Ram's Club. Nothing new here.

rh00ster, you are one pathetic tool mouth.

The reason that is so is because it cost less to go to xh (and State) than almost all major universities in teh country.
Thus it is actually the NC taxpayers who subsidize the tuition.

If the tuition went up to say $30,000/yr out-of-state then you'd see those ratings fall because they are based so heavily on tuition.

However I am glkad to see that the ram-it klub has plenty of cash:

Well, they could afford to pay for a bigger chunk of the minor sports if they were not paying the salaries of 17 people on the Rams Club staff, including $190,000 a year for the top dog, and $284,000 for tickets to woo rich donors each year.

One possible solution would be for roywonderboy to give his Nike money to the ram-it klub.
After all, the million or so he gets from his salary, camps, and tv/radio shows ought to be enough to live on.

You ######ing idiot...if price was the only factor, why is MooU never mentioned?

Quality of education + cost = best value

And UNC is required to take a certain % of in-staters...a much higher % than UVa for example. This isn't even the ######ing issue though, it's the fact that someoene is whining about raising the fee from $98 to $150( which is still a lot lower than most).

STFU and keep talking about queers, it's the only damn thing you know anything about.

Lee - that's a stupid ass question.

1) I didn't say it was all price, otherwise NCCentral or Fayetteville State would be the best colleges in America
2) State does show up on most of those lists as has been demonstrated time and again on this board. Yes xh always does very well on those lists.

However, it is obvious that you are no math major (perhaps this was the issue on the GMAT).

rh00's postulate: QoEd + cost = value or Q + $ = V
If I accept rh00's postulate then I am saying that the more the cost goes up the better the value right?

Obviously this cannot be.

The correct equation is: Q/$ = V

Just stick with your liberal arts there rh00.

Nice attempt peckerhead, but you're making yourself out to be a bigger and bigger fool. The equation I cited was an illustration that "best value" is based on more than 1 criteria. It is based on "quailty of education" and "cost." It was not a mathemical equation, rather shorthand. No wonder you couldn't get into a good school.

But since you're trying to be a smartass since you realize your logic has been completed blown out of the water...the higher the tuition, the lower the "cost" value would be as that would be a negative, so best value ranking would be lower.

For the retards:

Quality of Ed would be 1 thru 10, 10 being best.

Cost would be 1 thru 10, 10 being best as it would be the cheapest, ie "best". wink.gif (This is where you are confused)

UNC: 10 (Qual of Ed) + 10(cost) = 20
MooU: 3 (Qual of Ed) + 10(cost) = 13

20>13 thus UNC >MooU

Now, let's raise UNC's tution:

UNC-before = 10 + 10 = 20
UNC-new = 10 + 9 = 19

20>19 thus UNC-before>UNC-after

Thus UNC is a better value when tuition is lower.

Thus you are a fool.

I don't get the article's point.

1) Student fees are hiked to pay for the sports that don't bring in cash. Why?

2) Ram's Club members don't pony up $$ for women's volleyball and men's fencing. They make donations for revenue sports since those are the programs that bring in advertising, recruits, and TV exposure. Plus, it gets them seats.

Is this author saying that the school is raising the student fees in order to fund Title IX sports because the Ram's Club doesn't help out these programs? Show me one school that shares its $$$ with the Title IX sports.
