All unx'ers lost money except Marshall....
QUOTE
No. 13: Suns select: Kendall Marshall PG unc Grade F Analysis: When I heard "Kendall Marshall," I really just heard, "Goodbye Steve." The Suns took what seems to be their new point guard and wow, what a downgrade. This is probably about six picks too high, and with questions about his speed and ability to guard, the Suns only regressed.

No. 14: Bucks select: John Henson PF unc Grade D Analysis: Didn't the Bucks already draft Henson last season when they took Larry Sanders? He was the best available player probably, but in terms of need, there's none. They might lose Ersan Ilyasova in free agency, but the Bucks have something like 45 forwards on the roster now. Going for versatility or a swingman would've made much more sense.

K just got Miles freakin' Plumlee into the first round of the NBA Draft....
QUOTE
A 6-foot-10 forward. Plumlee impressed scouts with his athleticism, posting the second-best vertical leap and fifth-best score in the agility drill in the pre-draft camp in Chicago, according to his father, Perky.

His athleticism appears to be only half the story in his rise, however.

“The feedback we’re getting from general managers is that he’s a basketball player,” Perky said. “The coaches at Duke work on a lot of stuff that might not show up on game night. They trained him well.”

LINK
QUOTE
Miles Plumlee, C, Duke
Pre-draft buzz: Plumlee's athleticism impressed scouts at a group workout in Minnesota and the combine, where he registered a maximum vertical jump of 40.5 inches. Once considered a lock for the second round, he has been listed as Indiana's choice at No. 26 in a Sports Illustrated mock draft.

Strengths: Did we mention Plumlee is a good athlete? Of his 262 field goals at Duke, 87 were dunks, and he posted a faster time than Tyler Zeller in the three-quarter-court sprint at the combine.

Weaknesses: A confident Plumlee is a much more effective Plumlee, and he needs to improve his mid-range jumper.

Scout's take: "He impressed when you saw him out of the Duke system because he's a competitor. I think the reason people are starting to look at him harder now is because he has a role that he played at Duke, and that role transfers into the NBA. Some of the more talented players, they can't accept that role, and he already has it and excels at that role."

Where he could end up: The Pacers are a decent fit for Plumlee, an Indiana native, because they need depth behind center Roy Hibbert. Most mock drafts have Plumlee going early in the second round.

BTW , Perry Jones just made the "sophomore" an endangered species.

Pretty damn amazing considering he's white, 23 yrs old and if my not mistaken, never made all-acc first/second/third team. He should be kissing K's feet. He averaged 5 points or less his first 3 years at Duke!!

QUOTE
26. Indiana Pacers: Duke center Miles Plumlee

Plumlee, who has two more talented younger brothers, is 7-0 and very athletic. But he's not much of a basketball player. He makes a lot of mistakes with the ball in his hands, but he won't get that opportunity often with the Pacers. He fits a team need, but they would have preferred to land Melo here. This pick is a bit of a reach with plenty of very talented players left, including big men Perry Jones and Arnett Moultrie. Grade: D

QUOTE
ima do a denialdj and post a bunch of good spectator comments on this pick:

What a wasted pick. Miles Plumlee? There was better talent available.

Oooookkkkkk, and lets look to the free agent market.

What the fuck we could've used Doron Lamb or pj3

Larry bird always searching for the next great white hope... This guy lil brother mason is better... This pick was a joke

Could have got this guy late second round

However, he has no offense whatsoever and is very raw, so his professional upside is very limited.

6 ppg, 7 rpg as a senior.

I would rather not talk about him right now... Would rather go get drunk and forget this night....

Plumlee is nothing more than a toy for Tyler.

Perry Jones, Green, Lamb, Miller, Taylor ALL AVAILABLE. BUT we take Plumlee the dude that averaged 5ppg , 7 rebounds and not even 1 block over 4 years!

Pacers will take the best player available, my ***. Any 2nd rounder will be better than Plumlee.
Bird called him best dirty worker in the draft?? Has Bird lost it he isn't even a dirty worker dude hates contact. Even if he was why the **** we need a dirty worker we have like 4 of them already in Pendy Lou Hans. We ficking need talent not a scrub. We are never gonna contend with a FO passing on 25 good players for a scrub who shouldn't of been drafted.

"who did Miles Plumlee f**k to get drafted this high?"

I told you guys we could do much worse than Green.

I feel bad for the ticket reps

He's not even the best Plumlee, is he?

You CAN NOT blow the draft as a small market team, its a death sentence. We just did that.

You know, I'll go ahead and say it. It's not much of a year when the ACC via two schools places 6 players in the first round of the NBA draft. And I think Plumlee has yet to hit his peak.

Why no mention of THESE comments? Ya know , those words spoken by the guy who actually COACHES the team.... laugh.gif
QUOTE
"The first scouting meeting that I stepped in to, I jokingly said, 'Is there any Jeff Fosters in this draft? And about four of our scouts simultaneously said, 'Miles Plumlee!' And, we've had our eye on him ever since."

"He's clearly the best dirty-work player in the draft." Vogel continued. "A blue-collar guy. He falls right in to this team's identity."

from the same site:

QUOTE
I believe taking a better player with more potential like Perry Jones III or Arnett Moultrie would've been the better choice over Miles Plumlee, but if he can come in and do the dirty work that's fine. I gave the Plumlee pick a D.

Just a byproduct of the fact that he's been coaching longer.

Dean's pros have been much more successful.
