He should be in jail. Seriously. What kind of hockey play is that? It's more WWE than NHL and , obviously , the WWE is fake. That shet was real. How 'bout the look on that fukkers face? Ya think he gave a shet? Give that goon a choice. Stand in front of a judge or let Roger Goodell decide his fate. That was a criminal act. End of story. The fact that it happened in an athletic competition should be beside the point. And don't get me wrong. I'm not a hockey afficianado but I enjoy the game. That kinda shet has no place in ANY sport.

You know what causes crap like this? The NHL's "commitment" to player safety. The "instigator rule".
Back in the day it went like this...........every team had at least one goon. The goon's job was to protect his team's best players. If anyone took a run at say Steve Yzerman then Bob Probert would make an appearance on the ice and if he didn't lay out your team's best player he was in a heap of trouble. The threat of having your best scoring options getting smoked kept cheap shot artists from messing with your guys. It was an unwritten rule but it worked. Now the highest fine is only 2500 bucks so everybody takes out anybody who pisses them off and it hardly puts a dent in the perps pocketbook. Cheap shot artists have almost carte blanche to take out anyone they please. That's how the Sidney Crosby's get hit a ton more then the Wayne Gretzky's did. The "instigator rule" is a total joke. It deters players from initiating fights without the will of their opponent. That sounds all well and good but those opponents are usually the one who just delivered a cheap shot to one of your guys and will not fight back if approached. They can do that now with really no fear of retribution b/c if one of your guys retaliates he'll be suspended. Thus more cheap hits. Then it boils over to stuff you linked to

Agreed. At first , it looked inadverdant....the result of him celebrating a bit much following his dunk. Closer inspection reveals just the opposite. He did that shet on purpose. Aimed that elbow an' everything. What a preck.
