True story from a conversation I just had with a friend: her daughter's getting ready to graduate from HS, but hasn't decided where to go yet. She's been accepted at carolina and went for a campus visit. Seems that as the tour guide/student ambassador/whatever they call them was showing them around, he said in response to a question and side conversation about sports that he never was much of a sports fan before, but ever since getting to unc, he's become a big fan because "we win so much."
