we're already mocking you over rivers potentially being out of the top 10

Cool, glad that's cleared up. Not like ANYONE is laughing at your football program...err and your basketball program...err and, well, your entire "school".

Oh, and if HB goes #2 I will laugh harder than I've laughed in a while.

Me too. The SECOND contract is where the big money is and watching Prince Harry shet the bed on a lousy team ( I can see his finger-pointing and towel-wearing now ) will be priceless. He better PRAY he drops to his savior Kyrie. Otherwise , he's just another wasted-talent malcontent ( ala McCancer ) waitin' to happen. laugh.gif

it was clear from the get-go that barnes was not going to be drafted over kyrie. the cavs had a need for a floor general, not a big man like barnes.

oooh oooh .... he played the Duke football card!

I'll bet you $1000....I'll bet Duke goes to a bowl game this year. You bet unc will. If neither or both go, it's a push. Deal?

which team has better odds of being last in the ACC AND not going to a bowl game this coming year?

which team has most recently busted a player for being a locker room coke dealer?

I don't know. Duke has won more games than unc since 2006. I know that.

The Cleveland Cavaliers suck.

Duke sucks at Bobcats-level.

Duke does suck in football. Big time. Which should embarrass unc all the more. Duke has more ACC football titles than unc. This despite sucking for over 40 years save the brief Spurrier stint. This despite unc blatant cheating. Yet Pert is stupid enough to mock a program with more success than his own. This despite his own program being a national laughingstock right now. What.....a....MORON. The Krugman thread proves he's too stupid to live but his current musings in this one takes it to another level

QUOTE
Poole: Harrison Barnes is more hype than hope

QUOTE
His face is smooth as a baby's bottom, almost as smooth as his jump shot.

He works a basketball court, as well as a room, with choreographed comfort, as if he has been rehearsing in front of a mirror six days a week since fourth grade.

Harrison Barnes is bright, polite and polished, almost processed.

There is a lot to like, even admire, about the latest answer to the Warriors' prayers.

But no matter how happy the Warriors are, and they're singing in the key of giddy, it's unfair to expect Barnes to reach the thin-air heights of the hype that preceded him.

QUOTE
More to the point, such expectations are unwarranted.

QUOTE
Barnes was good, occasionally superb, but rarely dominating and too often disappointing. His two-season legacy with the Tar Heels, which ended with a 20-for-61 shooting performance in the 2012 NCAA tournament, was unexceptional....Warriors fans viewing Barnes through the prism of his high school accolades will be disappointed. Those basing expectations on his college achievements -- and I'm in that group -- will need to lower the bar from the level typically reserved for the No. 7 pick in the NBA draft.

QUOTE
It wouldn't surprise me if Barnes, who comports himself with the composed elegance of Shane Battier, someday becomes a Fortune 500 CEO.

QUOTE
But he's in Oakland to play basketball. The Warriors need him to be a star, or something close. That's going to be the hard part.

Barnes has a nice stroke but is streaky, like Jamal Crawford. He's silky and skilled but lacks the killer first step of the young Paul Pierce. He played a lot at guard in Ames but doesn't have a particularly good handle, like Jason Richardson. The Warriors still have no wing who can create off the dribble, because Barnes is not that guy.

Most troubling, though, is that Barnes' ruthlessness rarely surfaces. Skill without fierce determination is why Chase Budinger is not Andre Iguodala and why Kobe Bryant never had to worry about Vince Carter.

QUOTE
We've seen mellow, cerebral types (Joe Barry Carroll, Adonal Foyle, Mike Dunleavy) and been unimpressed. We've seen former high school superstars (Chris Washburn), the North carolina lottery picks (Antawn Jamison, Brandan Wright) and even the French Michael Jordan (Mickael Pietrus).

What we haven't seen since Chris Webber in 1993 is a rookie with the potential to lift the Warriors. I doubt Barnes is that guy

QUOTE
I love that," he says, as if ready for the challenge. "We have that extra motivation of everyone saying this team is soft, that they drafted soft players. 'Barnes is from carolina; he's soft. And now he's joining Steph (Curry) and Klay (Thompson), who are also soft.' That definitely fuels you. I can't wait to get to summer league."

LINK

The guy has a point but Dunleavy and Jameson? Mike's doin' just fine. Thing is , he had to get outta GS first and Antawn , while a hole , has been productive too. I'll sign off on just about everything else though. Barnes is a tool. What?! He didn't have enough "motivation" while at unx playing State/Duke and the rest of the ACC? NCAA's not enough impetus either? Please GOD , let this kid be the bust he should be. laugh.gif

QUOTE
Barnes qualifies to join Zeller in rafters

QUOTE
North carolina forward Harrison Barnes was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America second team on Tuesday, qualifying to have his No. 40 jersey honored in the Smith Center rafters.

Teammate Tyler Zeller, who had already qualified to have his jersey honored earlier this month, joined Barnes on the second team.

LINK

Ya see? Ya DO have to do more than pass AFAM to be "honored." Heck , why not put AR's jersey up there? He played better in that building that Prince Harry ever did. laugh.gif
