Yeah right.

Do you and ex-Pert get together and play drinking games to see who can tell the biggest tall-tale?!
(frankly I think you'd lose but whatever)

Imagine this looks familiar to you:

Like I said, any admin can confirm I was there at the date and time on the ticket.

Unless you think I was there, and then managed to google search an image online from the exact same (small) place at the same time?

I can tell what city or region a poster is posting from by IP address.
Some bbs programs keep a log of posts with times and IP's. I don't even know if this one will do that. Never looked.

C5T posted from the following IP 4 times starting on March 15.

From the board lookup tool:
The host name for 69.162.16.15 is solution1.hsia.citycenter.com

City Center

This is a cool tool.

C5T, you go to Los Angeles frequently?

Gambling problem? I crushed while I was there. Pretty simple, just look at the odds a successful predictor (like pomeroy) gives and see if vegas offers you better odds. It's rare, but sometimes the public bets so stupidly it opens up the house to get beaten. Like I said, the Duke line was a glaring error.

Exactly what it says on the ticket. Won 212.50 total, for a profit of 187.50

The +750 is the odds. It means you win 750 for every 100 you bet. Negative numbers work the opposite. In this case, Duke was -1100. That means in order to win 100, you need to bet 1100.

Never been to LA actually. No real desire. If you are getting that in the IP results, it's very likely from when I log in at work. The internet is routed through a west coast hub as far as I know.

Then how the heck was an admin supposed to actually verify that you had been to that site......

1) no you're the one who freaked out over it actually calling the number and attempting to text it your own self, oh and there's more to that story that you don't know about.
2) I can certainly believe you're a lying ex-Pert. My advice: "Physician heal thyself".

The IP and host name are generated every time you log in somewhere. From this you can usually get a company name and location. Between this and timestamps, you can get a pretty good idea of where somebody is (this by the way is really the only information anybody gets in order to catch online criminals. You need to go directly to the ISP to get more).

There almost always in a company name associated with it. In that case, it was City Center, which is the generic name for all the MGM properties in the area.

When I'm at work (as I am right now), they route internet traffic all through a certain place. Presumably so they can more efficiently keep an eye on us (Hi bored IT guys). It looks like it's in Concord, CA.

But you can usually get an inkling that this is what's being done by looking at the host name. In this case it's likely the company I work for. But when you log in at home, you'll be under Comcast/Time Warner/whatever which doesn't re-direct anywhere.

TL;DR Since those posts with Aria IPs were made a few weeks ago, I'd have had to know THEN that we were going to have this discussion several weeks later in order to try and spoof a Vegas IP.

Also, it's interesting to note that my work IP range has been permanently banned from Packpride. lol.
