Vegas is giving 15/1 odds against the Duke Blue Devils winning the NCAA tournament as of this morning.
Kansas is the odds on fave with 2/1 Free money right? Only gotta win it 1 out of 15 tries to break even. |

Hell no. Granted, dook's defense and rebounding is better this season, but let's see what happens when they run into a tough team with quick guards and size (ducks thrown objects from blewdook).

unc does have quick guards. They're just not nba - quick which means that roy is exposed. Also Duke's achilles heel will be outside shooting. (Although they have a couple to drive and Zoubek to pound it inside). Frankly, as much as they talk about " the big 3 ", IMO Zoubek gets hurt they're an E8 team at best.

Ok,let's get something straight. Duke wasn't a Top 5 pre-season pick. Honestly,I don't recall exactly WHERE they were ranked. If memory serves,it was in the 10 to 15 range (depending on the source). Like I said,I could be wrong though. Anyway, the holes are acting like this season was Duke's "window" to get to the FF because next year it'll be back to "business as usual."

After 2 months of MIA the holes show up to cry that Dook won't win the NCAAs?
You ######ers are pitiful. |

That's not what I said, I was just informing the moodookie faithful of a potentially lucrative moneymaking opportunity. To Dread: I disagree, I don't even think our guards are college-quick. LD II just doesn't have it, rarely makes correct decisions, and basically just sucks. Strickland shows flashes. To DJ: K wouldn't find himself in this position because of how he recruits. He recruits players that stay four years, which means they aren't as good. However, he consistently has a balanced squad (by class, talent, and experience) and always makes sure he has a chance. I think this explains why they've been consistently good but not great since the NBA rules changed the face of college basketball in 2004. Other schools don't care at all how long players stay and just try and get the best guys. Which means they'll have a fantastic chance of winning a national championship one year, then completely suck the next, etc. I'm thinking of schools like Ohio State, Memphis under Calipari, Connecticut, Georgetown. I think unc is somewhere in the middle. We don't really like signing players who don't stay, but we will. I think K is even more averse. |

Judging by what Duke has coming in (and some players that they're recruiting),I think K might have decided to "bite the bullet" somewhat as it pertains to bringing in the potential "one-and-doners." You're right,Duke will always have a chance with what they have but to IMPROVE those chances, they'll have to get a "one-and-doner" here and there. |

Don't they lose Scheyer and Singler this year ? They lose Jon for sure. Kyle hasn't made a decision. Duke has very good projected talent coming in with at least one "one and done" guy in Kyrie Irving (next year's version of John Wall) and players like Mason Plumlee should blossum in a quicker paced offense Duke will have next year. Ryan Kelly will really benefit too. Duke's not done recruiting next year's incoming class either |

The Plumlees are gonna be good. They play very physical and this year got called for some stupid fouls. But you'd rather have over agressive players than the Wears....who airball 10ft jump hooks. Damn they suck. How in the hell were they in the top 50? Drew sucks, too.
