For the record to anyone wondering, if Roy had pulled the last starters there would have been no technical foul assessed. The game simply would have ended.

Roy didn't leave because they lost by 30. He left because the fans were about to storm a court and they had an incident with it just a few weeks ago.

Shit, Roy lost to Duke by more than that in 2010, you'd think he would have done it then if he was just pissed about losing. The difference is duke fans weren't going to storm the court.

There are only two possibilities I can think of, and I'm not sure which is more embarrassing for Roy.

1 - He intended to go hide, with or without his starters (seems like he was ready to high-tail it without them until Hamilton pointed them out, then he waved for them to follow him). He was willing to leave some of his guys - the scrubs - behind. What this implies is either total cowardice and selfishness, uninterested in the safety of the guys he left behind, or the morale/perceptions of his team about abandoning the scrubs.

2 - He intended to forfeit the game with 14 seconds to play and hoped to high-tail it out with his entire team, escaping before the FSU fans realized what was going on and had a chance to celebrate. This is better in that he wasn't intentionally abandoning the scrubs, but it's worse in that he thought he was forfeiting a game simply because he was losing. No other reason, just he was losing, and decided to quit.

Both options are cowardly and babyish. The first option seems more cowardly, the second seems more like a baby. But either way ... whether he's more of a coward or more of a baby ... has anybody else ever done this in the ACC?

Yeah, he obviously did a poor job. No, he probably didn't realize the full team didn't follow him until later. Yes, that shows that he doesn't care very much about the walk-ons.
