From IC:

QUOTE
After his wife Jean had gone to bed one night earlier this week, Durham retired to his upstairs home office and went through the unc media guide, counting every football and basketball player that had played since his first year as the school’s play-by-play man in 1971. He eventually arrived at roughly 1100 student-athletes – 900 football and 200 basketball.

What a self-adoring POS prick. Good riddance, you bumbling, lying hack of an announcer.

edit: 10 hours after he retires and there are 180 posts on the fball and bball boards combined, when they have averaged over 1700 members logged in throughout the day.

Add to POS list....unc fans.

Wonder if Mick Mixon gets the mike now? Who cares really. The only people who can handle a hole announcers are hole fans.

I may be the only one but I'm gonna miss him.
He provided comic relief when I was driving around on Saturday afternoons listening to the holes lose all the time hearing the calls Ron Cherry missed on every play.

damn, woody

the best part is where lil' dickie says the most honest words to ever pass his crooked little lips:

QUOTE
“My favorite saying about Woody is Woody doesn’t tell it like it is, he tells it like we want to hear it.’” Baddour said.

you can't make this stuff up

QUOTE
“My presentation during these past seasons, over the 2010-2011 season, was not always what I wanted, so I knew it was time,” Durham said. “I wanted it to be my decision and not that of somebody else a few years from now.”

Heard 'im say this on the radio yesterday. I think I recall some listeners saying that he confuses more shet than he used to....players' names , stats , game info , etc. Personally , I have no problem with Baddour's comment. I enjoy listening to a big homer call the games involving my fav team. It's like listening with a fellow fan. If only Duke had such a broadcaster. Damn. mad.gif

It really IS time for 'im to go. Honestly , I don't know much about the guy but if he actually believes this , the poor bastard is probably lookin' at the onset of some sort of dementia or senility.

QUOTE
There is a nasty rumor that Butchie Boy prompted Woody’s decision to retire so he (Butchie Boy) could bring in his own stooge, at least for football. I hope that’s not true. But Butchie Boy seems to get what Butchie Boy wants these days..... with certain unc officials.

He thought his performance slipped the past few years? That MF never knew what the ###### was going on. Th last few years... you really cant make this shit up.

Oh, and Woody is as big of a stooge as there ever was, dickie will never find a bigger homer than woody.
