"Inadvertent" my azz. Another Tarhole Smitty...
QUOTE
The former officer claims on his twitter page (@Tar_Heel_Smitty) to be "the BIGGEST Tar Heel fan in existence!"
The investigating officer, Sergeant Shawn Smith, wrote in the report, "I changed the travel and impact speed of the collision from 25 to 45 based on the severity of the collision and other factors combined. To have an incident of this magnitude, the vehicle had to have been traveling higher than the posted speed of 25 mph."

QUOTE
Davidson only received a citation for not having a valid driver's license. He was not issued a speeding ticket and none of the players were taken into custody.

Smith also was assigned to coach Davis for home and away games.

unc says Smith resigned on July 15, six weeks after the crash, but won't say if the crash led to his resignation.

QUOTE
He said, "I let my love for unc interfere with real life and I paid the price."

Re: Scandal:Breaking:unc Police Report Cover-Up Exposed- Kane

per a unc source with close ties to the football program, Jackson Boyer was NOT the only victim involved in the hazing "incident" at the Aloft Hotel during unc fall camp.

Dante DiMaggio is a freshman WR from Raleigh, Cardinal Gibbons HS, and like Boyer, a preferred walk-on.

I was told that there is a good chance that any police report also contains the name and statements from DiMaggio as well as Boyer.

Hope to have more later...

I think Boyer obviously took the brunt of it, but this kid was also involved in some manner. Maybe he just took the beating and didn't fight back?

@unc Football is _actively_ covering up both players involved and the extent of the violence that occurred on 8/4/14.

University
Statement

Update on University
Investigation

“When the University of North carolina at Chapel
Hill first learned of an off-campus incident that occurred Aug. 4, related
allegations were taken very seriously, and a thorough review was immediately
initiated.

Since the allegations involved students, that
investigation was conducted by the Office of Student Affairs as part of a
well-defined process. The process also involved administrative notification to
the University’s Department of Public Safety to ensure compliance with the
federal Clery Act and proceeded – in a timely fashion – with the full
cooperation of all departments involved.

The Office of Student
Affairs has completed its investigation. On Wednesday (Sept. 10), the Dean of
Students and the Office of Student Conduct provided the results of that
investigation to the Student Attorney General as the next step in the
student-led Honor System. The Student Attorney General receives reports of
possible student behavior violations and independently determines whether to
file disciplinary charges.

Because of the University’s
commitment to protect the privacy rights of students and to protect the
integrity of the ongoing process, the University will offer no additional
comment at this time.”

Ya can't make this shet up. Great day for 3#'s to stop by. laugh.gif BTW , will the Honor Court be adjudicating any rape cases this week too? Two birds an' all. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Geez Louise , what a shethole. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

That funny, because he gave a detailed account to @CoachFedora the very next day. Guess the HC doesn't keep "school officials" in the loop.

The police report was woefully incomplete @mfortuna45. Basically filed to cover unc's tracks. More on that here: http://bit.ly/1uHFeD2

unc completes football hazing probe

QUOTE
North carolina has completed an internal investigation into an alleged hazing incident involving football players.

In Thursday's statement, the school said information was sent to the student attorney general, who will decide whether to pursue charges through the honor court.

The statement doesn't name anyone involved or details other than the incident took place off-campus Aug. 4.

Coach Larry Fedora suspended sophomores Des Lawrence and Brian Walker, redshirt freshman Donnie Miles and true freshman M.J. Stewart for the opener for a "violation of team policy."

That came one day after a Yahoo! Sports report of an alleged altercation that left a redshirt freshman walk-on receiver with a possible concussion.

The school had said it was investigating an incident involving football players, though it hasn't confirmed it was a hazing incident.

QUOTE
unc completes hazing investigation; student court to decide on charges

QUOTE
The University of North carolina has completed its investigation into an alleged hazing incident involving members of the football team, the school announced Thursday.

The school says the case is now in the hands of the Student Attorney General, who will make the decision whether or not to pursue charges in the student Honor Court.

The statement from the school does not give any details about the nature of the alleged incident or the students involved.

Yahoo Sports reported last month that a hazing incident involving members of the football team escalated into a "group assault."

Four unc players were suspended for the season opener for an unspecified violation of team rules.

QUOTE
How will hazing scandal impact unc?

On Thursday's SI Now, Sports Illustrated college football writers Zac Ellis and Martin Rickman discuss unc head coach Larry Fedora suspending four players due to hazing and what the scandal means for the school.

National? Not national?
