QUOTE Rodney Hood To Duke QUOTE Former Mississippi State wing forward Rodney Hood has decided to transfer to Duke University a source confirmed to Scout.com on Saturday night. First the Blue Devils landed Amile Jefferson in the late signing period. A few weeks later and Duke has added another big, athletic wing with the commitment of Rodney Hood. Hood averaged 10.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 36 percent from three and 44 percent overall as a freshman. Per NCAA rules Hood will have to sit out the 2012-2013 season, but will be able to practice with the Blue Devils throughout the coming season. He is expected to enroll for summer school in Durham. Upon announcing his decision to transfer from MSU, Hood had a number of options including Ohio State, Florida State, Louisville, Marquette, and Georgetown. However, he quickly reduced his list to the Blue Devils and Buckeyes before deciding on Saturday. When it came to the Blue Devil program, the biggest selling point was head coach Mike Krzyzewski. “Duke is self explanatory,” Hood previously explained to Scout.com. “Coach K is the best coach in college basketball, and their assistant coaches are also great at developing pros. Duke is just the highest level of college basketball.” Hood was ranked No. 26 overall in the 2011 recruiting class. LINK |

Obviously , vmarshall had a brief meteoric career on that board. QUOTE March, 2014. After another dook first round loss and being relegated to the bench for not fully capitulating to the screen setting orders, Rodney Hood transfers from dook to Louisville. He'll have one year left to play. Lehigh LEHIGH!!! Coach k. "Rodney, run to the top of the key. Turn sideways. Cover your Johnson with both hands. Set a screen. Run back to the basket and look for rebounds. This is not a hard system to run son. Trust me." You'll be successful and get drafted in the 2nd round. Hood plays the SF/PF position and from what i've heard he has a decent jumper. With him, Alex Murphy and Amile Jefferson you can cancel out Jabari Parker going there. I just hope this doesn't help them with snatching up Randle, but I seriously doubt Randle, being a PF would want to rebound and set screens for all the wing players they'll have. Maybe this will help our chances with Randle I don't get how Hood influences anything at dook. I also don't get how Hood couldn't see this and could be such an idiot as to mortgage his future to a coach who will immediately recruit over him And Murphy has now been recruited over twice - after coming to school a year early to redshirt and not play a game. Kid has to feel good about his decision. Enjoy playing PF and having your career ruined, Rodney. So, who all has K tampered with in his desperation to "compete"? 1. Rivers, while committed to Florida. 2. Curry, while enrolled at Liberty. 3. Kabongo, while committed to Texas. 4. Hood, while enrolled at MSU. We could probably add Miles Plumlee to this list. Anyone else? Dook can say goodbye to Jabari Parker and Andre Dawkins He's going to the wrong place to rob from the rich and give to the poor. seems like there's not a lot of info out there on this kid. you'd think if he were as good as the dorks over on TDD say, there'd be some video evidence, or more teams would have gone after him Pretty much covered all the usual ground there..."recruiting over" , "tampering" , "not as good as advertised" , "set screens" and "low draft pick." IOW , during a year where a pre-season number one ranking and 4 NBA draft picks all but guaranteed a unx title , the holes shet the bed , under-achieved , won zip and still only sent one more player to the league than Duke did. Lollers @ Roy. Duke = NBA pipeline. |

The Phoenix arises from the ashes.
I sort of thought the reports of K's twilight were somewhat premature. |

The Phoenix arises from the ashes. I sort of thought the reports of K's twilight were somewhat premature. That's because any time Duke takes a perceived "step backwards" the tarhole nation pounces on it. They'll tell anyone who'll listen , "Duke is done. K's finished." |
